Curriculum aims

Kingswood Parks Primary school is set in the heart of the community and we strive to work closely and in partnership with parents and the wider community to provide a safe, caring and inspiring environment where children are supported, challenged and encouraged to be the best they can be.

At Kingswood Parks we have adopted a text led curriculum and use high quality texts in each year group to develop literacy skills and provide an engaging context for other curriculum subjects. We have a strong focus on developing and applying reading, writing and mathematical skills.

The curriculum at Kingswood Parks is skills based and develops key skills in all subject areas as pupils progress through the school. We use skills to acquire the necessary subject knowledge as defined in the National Curriculum.

We understand that we have the opportunity to shape citizens and leaders of the future. To this end we embed spiritual, moral and social understanding into our curriculum to enable our pupils to be well mannered, rounded children who know right from wrong, are tolerant and respectful. We aim for our pupils to be well prepared for their secondary school years when they leave us and ultimately adult life in modern Britain.
